This week on the morning show we’ve been chatting about church, and if/why it’s important. Many of you took part in our poll on the homepage (thanks!), and it turns out Call FM’s listeners range from weekly church attenders to those who almost never attend.

So with that in mind, what exactly is the point of church? Is it a way for parents to torture their teenagers? A way to score a few points with “the Big Guy?” A place for Grandma to show off her vast collection of plastic flower and fruit-topped hats? Or is there a bigger point? We talked to Ben Coleman, the college pastor at Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin Texas, to shed some light on the issue.
