The release of the brand new Superchick album Rock What You Got has evoked a variety of emotions in me this week. Allow me to explain. (I’m pretty much going to whether you allow it or not.) Yes, a big part of me is elated to have some new Superchick to rock out to, but then there are the darker emotions I have to deal with… feelings of insecurity and failure that my own girl-power group, The New Chicks on the Block, crashed and burned a mere two weeks after its inception in 1991. In all fairness, I was only 11, but the wound still feels fresh. And so does the pain of the 64 ounces of Aquanet that held my poofy bangs in place each day. But that’s another story (a wise man once said ”it hurts to be beautiful.” I think late-80’s/early-90’s hair was a prime example).

Anyway, I am working through this great life disappointment, and giving YOU free music really helps a lot. So we’ve been busy giving away free copies of the brand new album, along with autographed Superchick posters, to a slew of lucky listeners. Today Julio and I had a chance to chat with Superchick’s bass player Matt Dally.  Turns out Matt and our own afternoon guy just may be kindred spirits in the world of Rock Band. And Matt once fouled Miami’s own Dwayne Wade?
