The long weekend

I had a really fun Valentine’s Day excursion last night, and I learned something very important about myself…I am SUPER competitive! I thought I wasn’t, until I was faced with all those bright, sparkly games at Dave & Busters. And then it was on, people. I totally killed at the first two (virtual bowling and racecar driving), but then I got crushed FIVE TIMES in a row at air hockey, skee ball, bear hunting, and more racing. It wasn’t pretty. And by the way, who on earth goes bowling in the FOREST?! Somebody needs to chat with the folks who made that game. Here’s an example of how bad I am at games. (click on the photo to enlarge it):

Yep, he beat me by 2,209 points. Pathetic. I also received a pretty stinkin’ funny card [click to listen]. VALENTINE’S DAY IS ALL ABOUT THE LOVE.

One of our listeners heard me air the clip of my V-Day card, and thought it would be the perfect way to wake up Julio this morning. Listen in on the call:

 JULIO’S VALENTINE CARD WAKE-UP CALL

I hope you enjoy your long weekend! I’m gearing up for my birthday tomorrow, and more importantly, for the first day of Marlins spring training. Pitchers & catchers report tomorrow! WooHoo!!!! (I know you’re as excited as I am, so don’t bother denying it).

Also, as a defense to Julio’s comments about me on the air yesterday: I had a crush on Abe Lincoln when I was SIX years old! I was too young and inexperienced at love to understand…uh…that Abe had been dead for a really, really long time. My parents bought me a book about his life, and what can I say? He looked very attractive in that log cabin, sitting up by candlelight to practice his ABC’s with coal and shovel. What lady wouldn’t love that?!

Happy President’s Day! :)
